The Chief Science Officers (CSO) program places students at the forefront of STEM. Students in grades 6-12, serve as liaisons for their state as they experience leadership training, foster STEM opportunities at their schools and in their local communities, and work collectively to provide ideas and input to STEM leaders in their region. The program seeks to inspire students and community STEM awareness while encouraging the pursuit of STEM education and careers.
The underlying goals are to:
Foster a strong network of STEM innovators
Foster communication and collaboration among CSO’s
Enrich STEM culture and career awareness.
Amplify student voice in STEM conversations in the community
The CSO's mission is to:
Be a voice for their peers
Bring STEM opportunities to their communities
Bring change to their worlds
