STEM Council Program Manager

AIDT Alabama STEM Council at the Alabama Workforce Training Center (AWTC) located in Central Alabama is seeking applicants for STEM Council Program Manager

SYNOPSIS

Develop, implement, and manage key programs for the Alabama STEM Council. Reports to the Alabama STEM Council Executive Director. Work is performed with considerable independence and decision-making authority.

Scale Up of Alabama STEM Programs:

  • Oversee implementation and use of STEM program database and website.
  • Coordinate landscape mapping of AL PK-12 STEM programs including after school, camps, events, and competitions.
  • Plan and implement a pilot scale-up project.
  • Develop a 5-year plan for identifying and scaling-up PK-12 STEM programs in collaboration with Alabama workforce partners.
  • Emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion to increase participation in state/national programs and scaling local programming to new areas.
  • Coordinate the efforts of an ongoing scale up working group. Data Tracking of Alabama STEM Programs:
  • Oversee the development and utilization of a public-facing dashboard displaying current data on STEM indicators, including management of contracts/vendors needed to support the dashboard and ensure that the interface is user-friendly.
  • Coordinate with communications staff on reports or products featuring STEM indicators.
  • Develop and conduct professional development activities for stakeholders to understand their STEM data and engage in strategic planning based on data.
  • Coordinate the efforts of an ongoing data working group. Planning and Administration:
  • Plan and document daily/weekly work schedule.
  • Maintain project schedule, reports, outlines, etc.
  • Process project invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Contribute to and extract from the information flow of the Council using automated tools.
  • Travel in and out of state as required to perform job duties.

Special Projects

  • Accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Maintain housekeeping to organizational standards.

Required Minimum Qualifications

AIDT Policy Manual minimum qualifications of salary schedule C3L are: Minimum two years experience in appropriate area of specialization; or Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution required; or two-year degree in specialization and one-year industry or industrial training experience. Baccalaureate Degree and STEM education experience preferred.

Salary and General

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3L salary schedule, within a range of $55,661 – $72,928. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

Criminal Background Check

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $23.75 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $23.75 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
